Here Are Some Tools for Small Business That We Like

Working Smart on the Web
Right Way Business Services is a small business that specializes in helping small businesses and non-profit organizations. Here are some resources we've come across that impress us...and that we use ourselves!

We Love PayPal for Small Businesses!
It's a low-cost and easy way to accept credit cards from your customers.
Think you know about PayPal? Surprise: Your customers don't need a PayPal account to pay you. They simply use their regular credit cards and PayPal processes the transaction...and you pay surprisingly low transaction costs with no monthly fees or minimums. PayPal shopping carts are easy to set up. (But we can do that for you if you want us to.) You can email invoices to customers that they can pay with their credit cards by responding to your email. Non-profit organizations can accept donations from donors who use their credit cards. There are lots of other impressive services!
We've set up several clients on PayPal and they love it. Click on the banner and check it out.
Sign up for PayPal and start accepting credit card payments instantly.

We Use Skype. We Want Everybody to Use Skype.
It's simple. Skype lets you use your computer to call regular telephones around the world at rock-bottom rates. Plus, if you and the other party are both using Skype, you both talk for free! That includes conference calls and video conferencing. We installed Skype nearly three years ago and immediately used it to make a call from the U.S. to China...for free! Call regular telephones in Western Europe for around 2 cents a minute! And they just announced optional subscription rates to call anywhere in the U.S. and Canada for $2.95 a month, some cities in Mexico for $5.95 a month, and 34 other countries around the world for only $9.95 a month, giving you up to 10,000 minutes of talk time each month! Skype software and basic services are free. Check them out.

Travel Guard Insurance

A Good Deal on Travel Insurance

We buy travel insurance for all of our major trips. Cancellation insurance is a good way to cover a possible loss when you buy a non-refundable airline ticket. Plus, when you're out of the country, you may have issues with your health insurance that could limit your coverage. You may even need air ambulance service to get you back home, something that can cost tens of thousands of dollars. We've used Travel Guard many times. We like their pricing, the variety of policies available and the ease with which we can buy coverage online. Most importantly, we've had good experience when we have filed claims. Travel Guard and other travel insurance companies pay claims with a check. Coverage from your travel charter company or your cruise line may reimburse you in the form of a travel voucher for a future trip. If we have to cancel or return home unexpectedly, we prefer the cash.

A word to the wise: If you buy your travel insurance policy within 14 days of booking your trip, the company will often waive the exemption of pre-existing conditions should you have to file a claim. That can eliminate a lot of hassles, so make it a point to buy your coverage when you book a trip. Click on the Travel Guard logo to see the policies available and to price them online.

Two Products Worth Mentioning

Visit Mozilla Products to download the popular Firefox web browser. You may also want to look at their Thunderbird email program, which we like because of our experience with its spam/junk mail filtering. Both are free.

Tools for Air Travel

Here are some Web sites you may want to bookmark and use when you are traveling by air.

  • FAA Flight Delay Center--Think weather may delay your flight? Check this site for current details.
  • List of Prohibited Items--The rules keep changing. Here is a list of items you can and can't carry on a plane, as published by the Transportation Security Administration.
  • Register Your Travel--This is a free service from the U.S. State Department. Registration allows you to record information about your upcoming trip abroad that the Department of State can use to assist you in case of an emergency.
